Ensure children’s safety, maintain school cleanliness, and act as a positive role model. Proactive, responsible team player with flexible hours and paid leave encouraged to apply.
Looking for a hands-on position with daily impact on children’s safety and their learning environment? The Cleaner role at The Aquila School could be a fit.
As a Cleaner, you’ll work within a supportive community that values well-being, integrity, and high standards of cleanliness. This is a full-time job, with 9-hour shifts Monday through Friday plus 4 hours on Sunday, offering 30 working days of paid annual leave.
You’ll be line-managed by the facilities manager and welfare supervisor and will need to be proactive, approachable, and able to work both independently and in a team setting.
일상적인 업무 및 책임
Expectations for this position include keeping all school areas spotless, ensuring the safety and supervision of students—as a bus monitor and in the school building—and maintaining confidentiality.
Duties also cover managing student behaviour positively while supervising on the bus, following the school’s code of conduct, and assisting in inventory and supply control.
The position requires careful attention to fostering a healthy and safe environment. You’ll be a visible role model for children and expected to act with kindness, flexibility, and professionalism.
Staff members may occasionally be assigned additional chores by school leadership to ensure smooth operation, a testament to the importance of teamwork in this role.
Clear English communication is essential, as is the ability to handle all situations in line with school values and policies.
Pros – Why Consider This Role?
A strong sense of community runs through the school, with a focus on child welfare and well-being. You contribute directly to the learning atmosphere.
You have guaranteed paid time off, and your work schedule offers five-day stability, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Staff undergo vetted background checks, and there’s a visible commitment to inclusion, safety, and professional development, fostering growth and lifelong learning.
Support from leadership and fair, structured management ensures every cleaner is connected to the school’s vision.
The positive impact of your daily work is clear and recognised, both by students and peers.
Cons – What to Be Aware Of
The job involves physical effort and regular movement, which may not suit everyone. Stamina is a must to meet cleanliness standards.
Hours can be demanding, and weekends aren’t entirely free, as Sunday work is required. Absolute confidentiality is necessary in all job-related matters.
The broad scope may mean occasional extra tasks at short notice, making adaptability important.
Clear, professional English is a requirement—language skills can’t be overlooked.
The work environment, while supportive, is structured and expects adherence to policies and high standards at all times.
Verdict – Who Should Apply?
This Cleaner position fits those who thrive in supportive, child-centred environments and wish to make a visible, positive contribution.
If you are reliable, value a sense of community, enjoy stable hours and holidays, and welcome being part of a school focused on well-being, this is a stand-out opportunity.
