The Host(ess) position at The Alcove Restaurant & Lounge is available on both a part time and full time basis. Pay starts at $17.85 per hour, plus tips. Immediate start is possible and the role offers four evenings per week. Applicants should be experienced, since a minimum of two years working in a similar role is required. A valid work permit is also necessary.

Daily Responsibilities and Job Overview

Greeting guests warmly, you’ll manage the waitlist and let patrons know when their table is ready. Reservations are handled over phone, online, and in person, so communication skills are key.

The front-of-house needs to be clean, tidy, and inviting for every guest. You’ll seat visitors at assigned tables, and provide novelty gifts to children when applicable.

Throughout each shift, answering questions about the food and drink menu keeps everyone informed. Furthermore, balancing guest seating to suit wait staff requirements is important for smooth service.

Ultimately, you’ll help the team create a welcoming atmosphere and provide memorable hospitality experiences nightly.

Pros of the Position

This job offers reliable, stable evening shifts—perfect if you’re looking for a consistent schedule. Advancement opportunities mean there’s room to grow your career here too.

Another highlight is the discounted staff meals. The comfortable dress code is practical and relaxed, contributing to a positive work environment.

Cons to Consider

If you lack at least two years’ prior hosting experience, this role isn’t for beginners. Evening availability four days a week is required, so day shifts are not an option.

The job may also get demanding during peak hours, and you’ll need to proactively manage both guests and staff expectations each night.

Verdict: Is This Host(ess) Job Right for You?

The Alcove Restaurant & Lounge offers competitive compensation, staff perks, a friendly team, and room to advance. If you meet the experience requirements and enjoy evening work, this is a great opportunity.
