Client & Migration Associate
Work with an innovative financial tech team, earn a competitive monthly salary (R25,000–R40,000), and use your finance and Excel skills to support client onboarding and share plan administration.
What does the Client & Migration Associate Role Involve?
The Client & Migration Associate is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a monthly package from R25,000 to R40,000. The role supports a cutting-edge web platform that helps companies manage share incentive plans. Candidates will be responsible for onboarding new clients, migrating their data, and ensuring seamless integration with the platform. The position requires a strong finance background and, ideally, advanced skills in Excel.
Daily responsibilities include learning the technical details of the software, setting up share award and exercise processes, and liaising with brokers to ensure that all trading activities go smoothly. You’ll also provide ongoing technical support to clients, especially relating to IFRS 2 and incentive queries. Additionally, you’ll help build and strengthen long-term client relationships and support continuous platform improvement by sharing client insights with the product team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
On a typical day, you’ll master the technical side of the share plan product and ensure that new clients are onboarded successfully. Uploading and migrating data efficiently is a critical aspect, as is coordinating awards and trades. You will work closely with brokers and address any queries related to incentives or share plan accounting. Part of your role also involves delivering structured training to clients so they can effectively use the system.
You’ll be expected to provide helpful feedback to boost the platform’s performance and handle multiple projects independently and as part of a broader team. The ability to manage time and pressure well, along with leading client meetings confidently, is crucial for success in this role.
Key Pros of the Job
Firstly, the salary on offer is attractive for candidates with a finance or technical background, especially at the entry or mid-level. Furthermore, the company environment is described as fast-growing and dynamic, offering valuable experience with innovative technology. The experience gained here could open further opportunities within the tech or finance sector.
Another advantage is the opportunity for continuous learning, both from technical onboarding processes and client communications. Candidates will grow stronger in financial systems, client management, and data migration—all valuable career skills.
Possible Cons to Consider
On the downside, the pressure of working in a fast-evolving tech environment means the workload can be unpredictable. Adapting to new challenges quickly is a must. Since strong advanced Excel skills and technical finance experience are non-negotiable, candidates without this background may find the learning curve steep or overwhelming.
Another consideration is the requirement for self-management. While independence can be rewarding, it can also feel isolating if you’re used to constant direct supervision or more traditional structures.
Verdict: Is This Role Right for You?
Overall, the Client & Migration Associate position stands out for candidates with robust finance and technical skills who are looking to progress their careers in the financial technology field. The attractive remuneration and team-focused environment are significant draws. However, it does require individuals who enjoy tackling challenges head-on and thrive in a dynamic workplace.
